Special Needs Martial Arts in Midlothian offers students of all ages and experience levels the opportunity to learn Martial Arts in a positive environment. Students with Mild to Moderate Learning and Developmental Challenges are welcome in this class that meets weekly on Monday at 7 pm and Friday at 6 pm. This is inclusive but not limited to: Developmental Challenges, Learning Disabilities, Down Syndrome, Williams Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Social Communication Disorder, ADD, ADHD.
At Poteet Martial Arts, our instructors are second to none! We are certified to work with all Special Needs children and adults, who want to improve strength, communication skills, and self-confidence.

The benefits of Martial Arts are endless – and that’s no different for our Special Needs program! Martial Arts gives students an outlet to release energy or frustrations in a controlled and welcoming environment. Our classes create a consistent and safe space that Special Needs students thrive in.

This class is held in a structured environment and instructed by caring and compassionate instructors. Tuition prices are at a discounted rate, there is no contract to sign, and an official uniform is provided with the first month tuition. Belt tests will be scheduled and conducted at the studio and there is no additional cost for them. Students also do local demonstrations and compete at local tournaments.
Special Needs Martial Arts in Midlothian Offers Something Great For Everyone!

Mr. Philip Schlabach started training in ITF Taekwondo in May of 2009 at Cross Martial Arts Center of Midlothian, Tx, where he earned the rank of red belt. Mr. Schlabach started training at Poteet Martial Arts in October of 2013 and earned his black belt on August 23, 2014. He competed at the 2014 USA National Championship where he won 3rd in the nation for Men’s Middle Weight Sparring. The following week, Mr. Schlabach was asked to be a Coach for Team USA for the 2015 Taekwondo World Championship in Italy. He coached 7 events in 3 different categories. After becoming a USA team coach, he began instructing at Poteet Martial Arts, something he currently does to this day.
