Mr. Jeffrey Wright

Jeffrey Wright took his first Taekwon Do class at the age of seven after trying many different sports.  Since then he has continuously studied the art of Taekwon Do for over eight years. In addition to Taekwon Do, Jeffrey is homeschooled through Texas Tech University ISD, attends church regularly, he volunteers at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children and is an avid runner.  He has competed in numerous 5k’s and recently finished in fourth place in his division in the South Padre Island Half Marathon.

Jeffrey earned his first degree black belt in August 2010, his second degree black belt in August 2013 and his third degree black belt in July 2015.  Along the way, he has earned many medals at various tournaments.  Most notably, he was named Male Junior Grand Champion at the Annual Texas Championship tournament in Austin in 2011 and 2015 and National Junior Grand Champion in Heavy Weight Sparring in 2015.  Jeffrey has competed internationally as well.  He earned a gold medal in patterns in June 2010 at the Can-Am Taekwon Do Championships in Toronto, Canada.   His highest awarded he has earned was aa silver medal at the ITF World Championships in Jesolo, Italy for Team Power Breaking in May 2015.  He has been assistant-teaching since 2012 and continues to enjoy sharing his love of the art and has even inspired his younger sister to start Taekwon Do.  Jeffrey plans on earning his fourth degree black belt when he turns 21 and he hopes to begin teaching Taekwon Do someday.
